The Telly has become one of the most sought after awards in the TV, commercial and video industry. The Telly statuette has appeared on the set of many prime-time TV shows, such as Thirty Something, Murder She Wrote, Newhart, News Radio, and most recently in the movie "What Women Want." Mr. Sherrod was awarded a Telly Award as best producer for the program entitled, “The Search for Customer Satisfaction”.

The Thomas Jefferson Awards Program recognizes broadcast journalists for outstanding achievements in furthering the objectives of the United States Government. Mr. Sherrod was awarded a Thomas Jefferson Award for producing and directing a film documentary entitled “Heike Prison”, the story of young Americans incarcerated in an Asian prison. The panel of judges who gave the award was producers from CBS Television productions.

The International Monitor Awards are now the world's most prestigious awards dedicated to honoring excellence in all areas of electronic production and postproduction. All winners are placed in the permanent collection of the Museum of Radio and Television in New York City. Mr. Sherrod has received two International Monitor Award Finalist Awards at Carnegie Hall, New York City, New York.
